Hey Friends,
We are so back!
Remember 3 weeks back we changed the format of the newsletter to 5 one-liners?
Two things happened because of that:
I wasn’t enjoying it. The joy of writing this weekly email to you disappeared.
You all weren’t enjoying it either. It was visible in the email responses.
So, here we are, back to what we do the best (thanks for telling the truth to me), on the time you all loved (Saturdays 8.30 am), doing something we both enjoy:
1 Raw and Real Conversation
2 Raw One Liners
3 Real Gratitudes
Let’s go :)
1 Raw and Real Conversation
Last year, a Gujju friend of mine went on a vacation to Thailand.
He was excited, and almost mentioned it to me at least once a week, a few weeks before heading on.
But there was one problem:
This Gujju friend and his family are vegetarians.
Thailand is not a pro country at vegetarian food.
So here is what they all did:
They packed food for an entire trip of 10 days while leaving from India!
Throughout the trip, this friend and his family would have food they were carrying, instead of the Thai food and its famous cousins on the streets of Thailand.
Isn’t that incredible?
Create your own reality if the current reality isn’t something that suits you.
I found it particularly fascinating because once you really really know who you are and what your non-negotiables are, everything becomes easy.
Would it have been easy for the friend and his wife and his family to make arrangements for food that would last 10 days?
Absolutely not.
However, would they trade it for “vegetarian” food in Thailand whose ladle (or maybe curry as well) was the same as other food?
Absolutely not either.
I am not criticising people who eat non vegetarian. But when it is a matter of choices, we all love to stick to what our food choices are.
I do a similar thing (since I never eat out) each time I am out for meal outside.
I carry my own food and eat it in the restaurant I am dining in, with the client.
Or a snack from home (whether it is laddoo, dry snack or even peanuts) if we meet for coffee.
I offer it to the client/friend I am meeting with.
And we go on :)
So, here is my lesson from that friend:
Do whatever you can, if it is right for you. Doesn’t have to make sense to the rest of the world.
With planning and preparation, anything is possible.
Share your quirkiest things with the world without ever being ashamed. You have no idea how many people would be inspired by it.
Isn’t it?
2 Raw One Liners:
Normalise giving up. Life's too short to swim upstream at something you know isn't meant for you. If you continue, you only leave opportunities for things where you are meant to shine and rock.
Be the kindest person you know. But it should never begin with being unkind to yourself :)
3 Real Gratitudes:
To the few of you who wrote to bring this “Raw and Real” format back. Thank you, my friend :)
Nowadays I am achieving my move goals as well as step goals (have kept them very very small to be achievable 100Kcal and 5,000 steps - but the fact that wer are showing up for them is wow :)
The Magic book. Restarted reading it after 4-5 years. One of the life-changing books. Everyone must read it :)
This is it, friends!
I’ll see you again, next weekend, and every one :))
Sending loads of joy your way.
Stay raw. Stay real :)
