Raw and Real Conversation:
I am a huge fan of learning.
So much so that in our spiritual class whenever we conduct sessions in colleges or schools, I am awed just by entering the school.
A part of me smiles from within, I laugh more that day, and I almost feel withdrawn from the rest of the world.
Thus, as an adult who is running her business while pursuing her art of writing and loving it like a baby, I am glad I still love education. Always have, forever will.
In such pursuit of education, last year I purchased a writing course worth $350 from one of the most prolific writers on the internet. It was a time-bound sale, after which the course would not be available.
I got the course.
Here is the banger: The course WAS available after the time-bound purchase, even after months, and perhaps still is.
This in a way made me lose my trust on the creator. I was subscribed on their 3-4 email lists, unsubscribed from every single one of them. Not because “I was trying to teach them a lesson” lol. No. But because I just couldn’t connect with them anymore.
I am absolutely okay with time-bound purchase. I understand you as a creator want to give your audience the best value, and it will be available only for some time.
However, as a customer it feels deceived if the availability is even longer, like forever.
So all that “only for a limited time” claims were false?
That discount was fake?
Your respect for me as a customer did not exist?
To each their own, but I decided to never do this to my customers.
As someone who puts out products into the world, you have to figure what to price it. But once you price it and people buy it, stop looking for bargain hunters and start focusing on the right customers, and improving their experience.
That is the hard work.
But it is also the easy work.
Easy work of trust.
Easy work of keeping your word.
Easy work of being true to your customers.
Easy work of letting your customers be your evangelists.
Easy work of following your conscience, even if it is what most people avoid.
Not everyone can do that, but for those who choose to do that, have their customers become their sales people.
And I wish you do that to yourself, my friend; no matter what everyone else is doing.
The right thing is rarely contextual.
On that note, I’ll see you tomorrow my friend.
Have a great weekend.
And always always know, there is always something good for you, if you choose to get out of your mind.
Raw One-Liners:
Sometimes we are the problem. Sometimes the other person is. Knowing that difference is what makes you a genius.
If you are unable to be happy on the festive season, it’s okay. But I hope you are contented from within. That is something we all must work for.
Real Gratitudes:
Sometimes we move on from people we thought we never could. If you have too, high-five my friend!
The ability to be quiet: Not everything needs your opinion. And that’s awesome.
ChatGPT: For making me love my art and be authentic even more :) :)
