1 Thing I wanted to share with you All
The year is 2013.
I am into the second last year of my CA internship and exams, post which I will have my first job, max by early 2015.
I am a year late into career.
The second stage of CA, which is the IPCC, took me two failed attempts of 6 months each, post which I cleared it in November 2011.
Now I am super focused.
Working to clear CA Final in first attempt with very good marks (which I did btw).
And then one of my friends (one of to aise bol rahi hu as if I had a thousand - no, just 2-3) texts me she has started her new job.
I was at a client office when she texted.
I texted her back with a huge congratulations.
I was soo happy for her. She had made it!! (At least that is what life felt back then.)
But then, within me, also came a sense of “not yet” making it.
I also wanted to be independent.
I also wanted to pay my own bills.
I also wanted to be able to go on trips just by informing my parents, not seeking their permission.
So it made me feel left alone.
Even though I was very well on the right track.
I could go right away and get a job.
Or I could study hard and get an awesome job.
Which is what I did.
But in the moment, when I left from the client’s location, I teared up. I stopped my Activa in the middle of the road, called my sister, and cried.
No, I sobbed. Like a kid. For not “making it yet” in life.
She listened to me. And told me everything you want to hear at that moment.
Eventually things did turn out well, fortunately
However, that’s not the point of this story.
The point of this story is:
Everything you see as “success” has ton of harsh truth that none of us sees.
For me, to get to a point of earning a handsome sum of money in early 2015 took:
A heartbreak
Several epilepsy attacks (yep bro)
Lack of potential friendships
And of course, dealing with insecurities (even though they were very few)
So the next time you see someone sorted, do not think of them as someone who is simply boasting, it is simply their happiness on crossing so many hurdles, that they want to share online.
Everyone has pains you don’t see.
Everyone has parts that you don’t scan.
Everyone has parties that you aren’t a sight to.
It will make you be truly happy for other’s success and happiness when you see that on the social media (and we see a lot of that), and respectful, empathetic and hopeful of your success even if you are facing some pitfalls on the way.
When we know the recipe, we end up having more respect for the result :)

3 Things to be grateful for
The ability to let go. We all have let go at some points in our lives. Today, ‘tis the time to acknowledge it.
Dysfunctional family. As much as they are dysfunctional, they also take away our dysfunctions a lot of the time. Especially when we most need it.
For quitting when you knew it wasn’t working out. Winners do quit. It is a sign of courage. And I’m proud of you, if you have ever quit <3
