Handling difficult colleagues and taking weekends off
Plus: An underrated life hack for peace at work :)
5 One-Liners for a Happier Work Life
Hey People,
Welcome to Raw and Real.
5 One-Liners for a Happier Work Life.
Delivered every Tuesday 4 PM IST.
Let’s start :)
The most fun I ever had was in my first job, which was also a job I hated.
The fun part? The team, the manager and the leader.
Having work you love is a blessing.
If you don’t have that, having people you enjoy working with make up for more than lack of love of your work.
…Underrated life hack for peace at work:
Work on a clean desk.
Live in a clean room.
Have a clean mind, free of evils.
…I once had a difficult colleague who was often disrespectful to the point of being rude. I often reminded myself of what Robin Sharma said:
The respect you give others is a dramatic reflection of the respect you give yourself.
Made me convert my angst into pity. Honestly, it was so much fun :)
Taking weekends off and not responding to work emails/messages does not show your lack of dedication to work. If only, it shows how much you are dedicated to recharging yourself, that will make you even more productive.
Being disconnected at the right time is an important sign of dedication.
I spoke about this in The Corporate Life Handbook.
…Repeat after me:
I'll work for 2 hours every day with extreme focus, even when I don't feel like.
I'll work for 2 hours every day with extreme focus, even when I don't feel like.
I'll work for 2 hours every day with extreme focus, even when I don't feel like.
Fun fact: This is also the secret to finishing off your work on time and going back home to have dinner on time :)
This is it, friends.
Do write to me which one of these (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonated the most with you.
