Sometimes in life, you stumble across a writing by someone, that conveys exactly what you want to convey.
Something similar happened to me last night.
I came across this post by Freddy Birdy, and wanted to share with you all.
Here it is (copy pasted from the original post):
To be empathetic means to lend a part of yourself.
A ear. A shoulder. A tiny corner of your heart.
Try and understand a loved one’s silences as much as you do their words.
Some of us, all of us in fact, are losers at something.
Love, perhaps. Money. Relationships. Career. Good health. Lightness. Or even life.
Oftentimes you have to reach out to people, even before they ask for your help.
You have to be able to read silences, complete withdrawals, and unanswered WhatsApp messages.
We can’t solve other people’s problems, but we can lessen them, make them evaporate, just by providing an ear.
We must make ourselves into that empty vessel into which someone feels comfortable enough to pour themselves.
Remember that nobody is looking for your solution, what they are just looking for, is your love.
I have figured, in order to love someone, you need to get out of your own self first.
